Mastectomy bras are specially designed for women who have had a mastectomy (or lumpectomy).
What should I look for in a mastectomy bra?
It can be difficult to know where to start, can't it?
Here are some things you might want to consider when looking for a bra to wear post-surgery:
- soft fabric for comfort
- stretchy cups (to allow for breast forms and accommodate any slight differences between breast sizes)
- soft seams
- a supportive underband (the band that goes under the cups and around your ribcage)
- no underwires
- comfortable, adjustable bra straps
- pocketed inner cups (to keep breast forms secure)
